The Academy for Learning Islam (A.L.I.) has continued to carry out its goals in the years since its inception namely;
narrating the teachings of the Prophet and his blessed family – the Ahlul Bayt (a), sharing the beauty of Islam, and increasing the love and
knowledge of religion according to the Shi’ah Ithna ‘Ashari school of thought. We believe that as followers of the Shi'a Madhab we are
privileged to have access to the wisdom that flows from the Qur'an and Hadith of the Ma’sumeen (a). With that privilege, comes the duty to
share this wisdom with others. The Academy has strived to perform that duty since it started in early 2001.
After a temporary hiatus due to a location move from Vancouver, B.C. to Orlando, FL the Academy is pleased to
announce that it is now more active than ever before in sharing and teaching the knowledge of Islam. With the help of dedicated volunteers
ALI has been able to reach out to many people, both the Muslim community and society in general. With the onset of our online courses, ALI
has now become a global institution, benefiting students in different corners of the world.
With the help of the Almighty and the dedication of its volunteers, the Academy has been successful in five main areas
in the last 30 months:
- Short Islamic Courses: On-site, Online and Portable
- Outreach Programs in 4 Cities in North America
- Holy Qur’an Distribution Project
- Bookstore
- Publishing and Distribution
The following report is a description of Academy's activities. We hope to show our well wishers the results of their support, and
invite those new to the Academy to support us in this new and exciting venture.
The Academy for Learning Islam is a registered charity with Revenue Canada and advised by a board of directors.
The current directors are Haji Amirali M Rashid, Dr Asif Tejani and Brother Azeemali G Moledina – all of Vancouver, BC, Canada;
and Brother Hasnain Kassamali of Orlando, FL, USA.
